Famous for its rich soil, filled with minerals, gems and precious stones, Brasil is the perfect destination for those who appreciate not only mesmerizing landscapes but also precious stones. Brasil is undoubtedly one of the major producers of precious stones with a large diversity found in its soil. For example, Brasil has the major emerald producer in world, together with Colombia and Africa; many exquisite stones such as Imperial Topaz and Tourmaline are also found here.

Like the saying goes its a waste not to visit the Vatican if you were in Rome. Even though i aint a big fan of gems or stones, i joined the MEN's Legep trip to Barra de Tijuca - the crazy shopping trip for precious stones. We set off as early as 9am as the factory only open in the morning on Saturday.

Apparently i were the only one who had not been to Legep, all the MEN have been here for at least two years. Wow.. i was really impressed by the quantities and varieties of natural stones available here. Bettcha Izel would love to see this!!

Legep specialised in Amethyst, there are a lot huge Amethyst in different grades. Besides of stones, they also have handmade keychains, bracelets, necklace and all sorts of souvenir choices. Sotong me forgot to bring cammie, the pictures above were taken using my Nokia N6101. More pictures in Edward's camera and i shall grab them from him soonest. Why in the hell its not my purse that i forgot to bring ??? So needless to say, i juz burnt a big hole in my pocket in exchange of another 2-3 kg of luggage weight. And yep.. its all souvenirs for u guys!

Went to Nativo for lunch, one of my favourite Bahian Restaurant by Barra Beach. Had some really really really fantastic Acaraje and Fish Moqueca, and a good Concha y Torro white wine. Pictures wif Edward, to be up soon!!

My neighbour Vera had been looking for me for the past weeks. She is kind lady who always leave soem chocolate/plants/ notes at my doorstep. Went over to her place in the evening. She just bought a kitty, named after Keanu Reeves. A fat fluffy ball which resembles a lot like Mr Hooligan's fav icon - Garfield. Oooh boy he is sooo adorable, isnt he??

Went to Plaza Shopping with Vera. Need to buy another luggage for all my stuff. Spotted this at Plaza and decided to bring it home within 5 minutes. A quick catch!!

Side Track: Met a cute hunk in one of the fashion shops, and he gave me this chic newspaper-boy-cap even though i refused to give him my cellphone number. tsk tsk tsk.. sweet encounter!

Busy Day

Went shopping at River Island todae. Super duper happy to find out that UK brand River Island has opened their first outlet here in SG. =) Has been visiting their Vivo outlet very frequent recently. =P

Picked up a Samsung phone on the cab. Well known as a Big Sotong myself, I understand perfectly how bad one would feel to lose his/her phone. An old lady called to claim back her phone. Happened tat she actually stay near my place, I offered to deliver the phone to her. Auntie was soo happy to get her phone back and she even gave me a Red Packet even i refused to accept it. =)

Took a quick shower before rushing down to Pu Tien Restaurant @ Kitchener Road. Had a dinner appointment with some of my colleagues and my Brazil boss CK who is now in town. This is my first visit to this restaurant. The restaurant was fully packed probably due to CNY. Food wasnt as great yet the dinner companion were fantastic. Its real hard to get everybody together as some of us are stationed overseas and hardly come back even for CNY. Real glad to see everybody is happy and healthy.

Ended the nite over some beers at Holland V Tango's. How i wish CNY holidays will nvr end. Ha!

Am kinda obsess over sandals ever since i came to RIO.
Having not flexed my shopoholic muscles in awhile, I gave my muscles and my wallet a little workout today.

Yupe!! its the latest Ipanema:Gisele Bundchen 2007 collection.

Bought a white thong and a black sandal with stripes. Just in case you dunnoe who she is: the the highest paid supermodel in this world -Victoria Secret’s hot lady: Gisele Bundchen.

This heart throb from Brasil is just 26 years old and she is already an heiress with god knows how much bank balance to her credit. The lady in turn pockets this hefty package in the Brazilian shoe company Grendene since 2001. This shoe company sells the IPANEMA:GISELE BUNDCHEN sandals, with her name endorsed in it. (This means she ends up getting another $6 million every year. =P)

This coming year, Gisele will be the face of a new campaign to protect the Amazon's Xingu River from deforestation and pollution. The campaign is called "Y Ikatu Xingu", which means "save the good Xingu water", in the native Kamaiura language. The Xingu River extends about 1,700 miles through the southern Amazon, including Brazil's first indian reservation, the 2.8 million-hectare (6.92 million-acre) Xingu National Park.

As her being the spokewoman of this campaign, the IPANEMA:GISELE BUNDCHEN 2007 launched a series of sandals and thongs with printed spiral tattoos inpired by the native Indians. Absolutely simple yet cool!!
