George Carlin's Views on Aging
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is
when we're kids?
If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you
think in fractions.
"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never
thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's
the key.
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump
to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are you?"
"I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And
then the greatest day of your life . . you become 21. Even the words sound like
a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!
But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you
sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun
now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa!
Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH
50 and your dreams are gone.
But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!
So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.
You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a
day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80s and every
day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.
And it doesn't end there.
Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92." Then
a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid
again. "I'm 100 and a half!"
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them "
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's
workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6 The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only
person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you
are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is
unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next
county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we
take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Still rem my post on the mickey mouse island, which the guys here had tried vising many times but nvr succeed? We were determine this time so everybody set off by as early as 9am. And yeah.. we are the early birds, so early that we waited for almost 2 hr. =P
While waiting, we went to see a submarine exhibition. It is a floating museum anchored at the pier. During its time in active service, the Riachuelo submarine traveled over 181,000 miles, 1,238 days at sea and 17,700 hours under water. Touring its compartments , we learnt about its weaponry and machinery, getting a good idea of life on board of a submarine.
I think the accommodation platform of the jack-up and semi that my our company built is definitely 5-star hotel after seeing all those crampy toilets and dorm.
The tix is definitely worth the money. With just R$4 per pax, we get to take this huge wooden boat which brings us to the Mickey Mouse Island. It was real cool!!
It was a guided tour, with a Portuguese speaking tour guide. However, we- gringos were given an introductory book each, which basically is a brief translation of the tour guide speech.
Hehe.. i love my cammie. Now i got all the history of this island in my harddisk.
Most of the things here were reproduction according to the 19th centrury, only a few are originals and belong to the Navy Museum. I can imagine how posh it used to be...Met a cute puppie named scoobee-loo during the meal, hehe.. the rest of my afternoon was busy playing wif him. He is only 2 weeks old. Zico too was this big when i first brot him home. Ahh.. i missed Zico.
Went to the beach for a stroll.. the breeze was refreshing and i can smell the sea even i was standing by the road shoulder. The serenity was so undisruptable. Just when i was about to walked down to the beach, i heard the car honks and some dudes shouting. I turned my head and i was too shocked to response. I saw BUTT!! yea.... naked brazilian butt stretching out from the van passed by, haha.. welcome to Brazil!
I want to be a beach bum someday. Simply doing nothing else but dive and dive and cuddle up at the beach with some cute dude and chill. Ooh.. Life!!

Just the other day i was sharing wif a fren of how I craved for a runaway, a real, long runaway which i treat it as some sort of retreat. Through weeks of extreme scrambling at work and mood swing, i had this strong urge to crawl into a cave to hide. I knoew this happenend to me time to time. The need to seek solitude. Not that comfort from close friends didn't take effect. Its simply an absolute one-person kind of breakaway that i need to take. Being in the thick of 'me, myself and I' , it might help me to reflect the journey I had taken, the choices I had made, and the realignment that I need to take to move on.I guessed its time to take a break. (Hv a kit-kat!!)

It took us two and half hr to reach Lumiar. After a sumptuous lunch, we set off to look for more waterfalls.
It seems like its not a right season to visit because the waterfall was not as magnificient during rainy summer. The photos online suddenly appeared to be deceiving as the waterfall all became a scale smaller due to the dry winter.
We visited Sao Jose- a famous waterfall and Encontro do Rios, a famous river for rafting. The water was coolingand refreshing. There wasnt any activities going on hence its rather peaceful and calm.

Cariocas sometimes say that the only nice thing about Niterói is the view of Rio. Even if so, it would be worth mentioning that it's a truly spectacular view, the kind of view of Rio you can't actually get from anywhere in Rio itself. Again.. i was mesmerised by the beauty of nature.
